Main Street Commons: Downtown Mixed-Use Infill

A mixed-use infill project in downtown Half Moon Bay: a new two-story building with ground-floor office and two 2-bedroom apartments, alongside 2 existing homes. Measure D allocations approved October 2026.

Location
Downtown Half Moon Bay, CA
Status
Measure D allocations approved

Main Street Commons adds new homes and workspace to a roughly 0.22-acre site in Half Moon Bay's Commercial-Downtown district. The two existing residences stay in place, and a new two-story building (under 30 feet) adds about 600 square feet of ground-floor office with two new 2-bedroom apartments above.

  • Homes: 4 total (2 existing + 2 new 2-bedroom apartments)
  • Office: approximately 600 SF, ground floor
  • Parking: a private 2-car garage for each new apartment
  • Status: Measure D residential allocations approved by the City of Half Moon Bay, October 7, 2026

Project update: Measure D allocations approved

Half Moon Bay's Measure D program limits how many new homes the City can approve each year, so every allocation is scarce. On October 7, 2026, the City issued both Downtown allocations we requested, two days after our application. The next step is the Coastal Development Permit and Architectural Review submittal to the Planning Division.

Project team: Dahlin Group (architecture and planning), HMH (civil engineering).
